Rap Stars in Boat Shoes

In the latest issue of Nylon, Asher Roth told the magazine that the most unassuming thing about him is that, “Um… I wear boat shoes.” I’ve been a big fan of the college student-turned-rap star since I caught him on Late Call with Carson Daly in December, and I am beyond delighted every time his tune comes over the speakers when I’m out on the town.

But, more than I like his cheesy hip hop, I love the fact that he was a state university frat boy who continues to wear his Topsiders with pride. Since he’s on the brink of hitting the big time, perhaps he should trade in those Sperry originals for a pair of these Sebago x Colette kicks. Much more stage-worthy, and they come in women’s sizes for you budding MIAs and Lady GaGas.
