Sneak Peek

After my toes took a serious beating on the city sidewalks, I went to Urban Outfitters in search of Bensimon sneakers. As luck would have it, I located them on sale in my color and size, and yet couldn’t bring myself to buy them. The last time I truly enjoyed wearing tennis shoes was way back in elementary school when I had Keds in every color, and I realized I’m just not comfortable waltzing around in sneakers—no matter how comfortable they may be.

Despite feeling a bit defeated, I limped over to Ralph Lauren Rugby to take a peek at the seersucker and summery madras. Instead of falling victim to another striped skirt that I don’t need, I caught sight of RL’s version of TOMS and instantly knew I had found the gold at the end of the rainbow. Fuchsia silk with skulls, as comfortable as slippers, and for a noble charity to boot (or… to shoe?).
